Camping Gear – Save Money And Space With The Leatherman Tread

August 22, 2016

Leatherman has been one of the biggest names in the multi-tool industry for decades but recently, they added a new tool to the Leatherman family. Say hello to the Leatherman Tread!

The Tread is even more camper-friendly than the original Leatherman as this one is wearable and is worn on your wrist like a watch or bracelet. The tool has ten different links with a total of 29 tools, making it the Leatherman product with the most options. They can all be simply accessed by rolling up your sleeve and slipping the device off of your wrist and into the palm of your hand!

There are five different sized flathead screwdrivers as well as three different Phillips head screwdrivers. If you find yourself in need of loosening or tightening a hexagonal nut or bolt, the Leatherman Tread has box wrenches that come in six different sizes. There are also eight different hex keys that can drive in a wide array of bolts and screws.

The tool does go beyond basic screwdrivers and conventional wrenches by including options such as an oxygen tank wrench and a carbide glass breaker that can be used to break through auto glass, should an emergency arise. There is also a pick/sim card tool that is able to help pry items from small enclosures, a cutting hook that can be used to safely cut through tape, cords, and seatbelts, a square drive, a socket drive, and of course, a bottle opener.

The sleek design features 17-4 stainless steel and allows you to customize your tool, rearrange the order, and adjust up to ¼” for a comfortable fit. With each purchase, you also receive a 25-year warranty, so it’s safe to say that these Leatherman Treads are built to last and with a price tag of $165-$220 for 29 wearable tools, this becomes an affordable item that is well worth the investment!
